About the Wild West Play Village

The Wild West Play Centre provides fun playing facilities for children in the Mayo area, from toddlers to ten-year-olds. So, if you are looking for fun kids activities while in Westport, look no further!

The facilities include a Toddlers Play Area, an extensive Activity Frame themed as the Wild West, numerous Party Rooms, a Cafe, and a Sensory Room.
Tish Gill now runs the Wild West following taking it over recently. With a background in Childcare, from managing facilities to teaching children with sensory and special needs. Tish is focused on providing the best experience for all children, from ‘walk-ins’ to birthday parties to our themed Parent-Toddler mornings. She is especially focused on providing the best possible experience for children who may have sensory needs.
Tish says, ‘The Wild West is a fantastic resource for the town of Westport, County Mayo, and Connacht. We aim to help and support our local community with our facilities. Kids need social interaction in a safe environment to mingle, burn energy, party, and enjoy themselves with their friends. Some might need a quiet area like the Sensory Room. Parents also enjoy watching their kids from a distance whilst having a Coffee or Tea. We rely on our staff, and we have a fantastic team that understands the needs of the kids and their parents. Together we’re determined to deliver the best experience from a visit to The Wild West.
Opening Hours:  10am – 6pm every day

Hygiene for Little Hands

During Covid-19 we teamed up with an Irish Pharmaceutical company to install the best and safest hand sanitiser for children to use. The product called ‘Cleanrite’ is a non-alcoholic formulation, and is suitable for use from babies onwards. Ideal for all children, especially where there may be sensitive skin conditions. We use cleanrite through foot dispensers reducing hand to hand contact.

Sensory play room

At Wild West, we understand the importance of sensory play in early childhood years and so, we are delighted to have a sensory play area as part of our play village.

Did you know that opportunities for children to actively use their senses as they explore their world through ‘sensory play’ are crucial to brain development, as it helps to build nerve connections in the brain’s pathways?

Absolutely top class place. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The building is so so clean and staff were observed cleaning all the balls from the ball pits individually with antibacterial wipes. My only fault about the place is the chips given to the children were very salty. Apart from that, I think it us A1. Keep up the great work. David Basquill

My 4 and 3-year-old enjoyed the play facilities and it was large enough to keep them occupied for our entire visit. The littlest one enjoyed the under 3s area although there wasn’t a lot for her to explore independently. Plenty of seating and clean toilet meant was a pleasant experience for parents too. Helen C

We are regular visitors to Westport, and each time we come we are bombarded with requests to visit Wild West! Always a friendly welcome and the best playframe by miles (and I have seen many over the last 7 years of parenting!). This place is a wet weather gem!
